The Otis Board of Assessors is responsible for the full and fair market valuation of real and personal property for the purpose of levying the property tax as of January 1st every year. It is the responsibility of the Assessors office to maintain valuations at full and fair cash value and to meet the Commissioner of Revenues re-certification requirements of property valuation annually. Every effort to ensure the accuracy of the database is taken by the Assessors Office. If you find any discrepancies with your property record, please bring it to the attention of the Assessors Office for correction. Accurate property information results in assessments that are fair and equitable for all Otis taxpayers.

If a taxpayer disagrees with the assessment, an appeal may be made once the actual tax bills are sent, within the specified time listed on the bills. The form, State Form 128, is available upon request. Please note that abatements can only be filed after bills are mailed (December,2010) and must be in the Assessors Office by February 1, 2011.

The Fiscal Year 2011 Tax Rate is $6.62 per thousand dollars of assessed value.
