Welcome to Vision Appraisal's Town of Westerly, RI Database.

The State of Rhode Island requires that all towns complete a statistical revaluation every three years with a full inspection in the ninth year. Westerly has already experienced the first two statistical revaluations (2003, 2006), and is just completing its scheduled full revaluation for 2009.

Significant effort was made to inspect the interior of all properties in the Town of Westerly in order to most accurately gauge the market value.

Updated property values for residential properties were mailed on March 19th. Commercial notices will follow within one week. After reviewing these values, property owners may make an appointment with a representative from Vision Appraisal to take place during hearings at Town Hall during early April. Please follow the instructions indicated on your assessment notice.

Tax bills will be mailed at the beginning of July. A property owner may then formally appeal their assessment to the Town Assessor within the ninety days following the last day the first payment is due, or November 3, 2010. Directions for appeal may be found on the reverse side of the tax bill.

Assessments reflect property values as of December 31, 2009. Due to real estate market trends and variations in property style, appeal, and condition, not all property values within the town were impacted in the same way, resulting in variations in value change.

This database also provides the user with an explanation of the revaluation process (SEE TAXPAYER INFORMATION link).
