In accordance with New Hampshire state law, in 2009 the Town of Swanzey updated its assessments of all real property. Updated assessments were used for calculating the final 2009 tax bill, and and have been used for all subsequent tax bills. The Town’s last update was in 2004. The next town-wide update of values is scheduled for 2014.

The Town of Swanzey updated assessments to fair market value of property as of April 1, 2009, incorporating data from sales that took place during the previous two years. Recent studies indicate that Swanzey assessments now are, on average, at 106% of market value.

The Selectmen’s Office appreciates the cooperation of property owners as officials and town staff strive to comply with state requirements and maintain fair and equitable assessments within the town.
