In accordance with New Hampshire state law, recently the Town of Swanzey has updated its assessments of all real property for the 2009 tax year. Updated assessments were used for calculating the final 2009 tax bill. Payment of tax bills is due on or before January 4, 2010.

The Town of Swanzey updated assessments to fair market value of property as of April 1, 2009, incorporating data from sales that took place during the previous two years. The Town’s last update was in 2004. Prior to the 2009 update, studies indicated that Swanzey assessments were, on average, at 82% of market value.
