The Town of Mount Desert contracted with Vision Appraisal Technology of Northboro, Massachusetts to complete a full revaluation of all real estate. The valuation phase of the project is now complete. The on-line database reflects the preliminary assessments to be used in the 2007 tax year.

Had the new assessments been in effect for the 2006 tax year the tax rate would have been approximately $5.05 per $1,000.00 of assessed value. An estimate of the tax can be obtained by multiplying the assessed value by .00505.

Any exemptions for which you are entitled are not included in the valuation on this site but will be included on the 2007 tax bill.
