The standard for assessments is “Full and Fair Cash Value”, as of January 1, 2009. In order to achieve that standard, the Department has collected and analyzed market data of various types. This includes the sales of the various types of property in Chelsea, as well as income and expense data used in valuing certain types of commercial and industrial properties. These values are available for examination at this web-site or in the Assessing Department, Room 211 City Hall, during normal office hours.
